iPad Stand
A practical stand for your iPad that's also a portable work of art.
Read ebooks, watch movies, and share stuff with colleagues and friends, at a comfortable viewing angle and height.

The iPad stand is:
  • stable - supports the body of your iPad when you use the touch screen
  • adaptable - holds your iPad the long way or the tall way
  • portable - lightweight, folds flat to fit in your briefcase or pack
 It works well and it looks beautiful.

Each stand is hand made to order, and takes me about a day to make from African sapele wood.  It's based on the 18th century bookstand described by the Frenchman André Roubo, whose Grain Exchange dome in Paris inspired the dome Thomas Jefferson had built at Monticello.

When you look closely, what appears to be two pieces of wood hinged together is really a single piece of wood that unfolds to open.  There's no hardware - the hinge is cut into the center of the board by hand.  It works well and it looks beautiful.

Foldaway Laptop Stand
My foldaway laptop stand can turn a table into a desk, or make your laptop easier to use in the coffee shop.

Folding Wooden Laptop Stand

Like the iPad stand above, it takes me about a day to cut this by hand from a single piece of African sapele wood.  It's based on an 18th Century book stand design by André Roubo.  When opened to place your laptop on, it looks like this:

Add a separate keyboard and mouse, and this stand makes your laptop as comfortable to use as a personal computer.
