| Fall front or bureau desk |
This fall front desk used to be difficult to use. The drawer that supports the flap was at a bad knee height, and the laptop was too low to use for long periods of time.
Raising
the height of the desk solved the knee problem, and adding one of my foldaway stands with separate keyboard and mouse made the desk more comfortable
to use.
This slab-style desk had some storage under the desktop, but not much above it for journals, files and books.
The paneled shelf attaches to the back of the desk and straddles the computer case at one end to allow air to circulate round it and give access to the disc drive drawers.
This arrangement of shelves adapts an existing desktop to give the keyboard storage under the monitor when the mouse is primarily being used for graphic design and photographic work.
USB port DVD burners on the shelf under the monitor allow the computer box to be moved under the desk to make more desktop space for paperwork and project storage.
